Late in the third quarter of the game, the Volunteers were driving down the field, and it looked like they had a chance to get into the end zone and take the lead. However, Monday had very different plans.
On second down from the Auburn 12-yard line, Tennessee quarterback Jarrett Guarantano threw to the end zone looking for six. Monday read the play perfectly and jumped in front of the throw for an interception. From there, Monday just showed off his speed and ran all 100 yards down the field for a pick six.

That play by Monday gave the Tigers a 10-point cushion as the third quarter came to a close. That was Monday’s first interception of the season and the third of his Auburn career. It’s also his second pick six in as many years.
Monday was a four-star recruit and the No. 6 athlete in the 2018 signing class, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. In his three seasons with the Tigers, Monday had 73 total tackles, 6.0 tackles for loss, and two interceptions coming into Saturday’s game against Tennessee.
