is returning to his original big league club. The free-agent lefty has agreed to a one-year, $8.5 million deal with the Mariners, a source told MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand on Saturday night. The club has not confirmed the deal.

Paxton, 32, was selected by the Mariners in the fourth round of the 2010 Draft and made his big league debut with Seattle in 2013. The southpaw, who threw a no-hitter with the Mariners on May 8, 2018, against his hometown Blue Jays, was traded to the Yankees before the 2019 season. He has a 3.58 ERA in 136 career big league starts.
