According to Sanchez, Pérez will earn $1.25 million if he makes the big league roster. The contract includes an additional $1.5 million in incentives.
Pérez spent the past three seasons with Cleveland, posting a 2.67 ERA with 105 strikeouts and 25 walks over 91 innings.
The 39-year-old also has pitched for the Padres, Pirates, Mets, Mariners, D-backs, Astros and Nationals during his 18-year career, recording a lifetime 4.35 ERA. Pérez made 195 starts from 2002-10, but he has reinvented himself as a full-time reliever.
