The Georgia Bulldogs have been searching for answers for the past few weeks after losing two of their last three games. And on Saturday, they got those answers in the form of a quarterback change and a 31-24 win over Mississippi State.
After sitting for six games this season, USC transfer quarterback JT Daniels got the start for Georgia on Saturday. Daniels ran with the opportunity to take the field, throwing for 401 yards and four passing touchdowns and guiding his Bulldogs to a win over the opposing Bulldogs. It was a big win in a season that has not gone exactly according to plan.
For Georgia, this season has been a letdown when it comes to being legitimate contenders in the SEC. The Bulldogs lost to Alabama by 17 in the fourth week of the season and then nearly lost to Kentucky in the next game. But a 16-point loss to Florida dropped the Bulldogs to 4-2 on the season and out of the driver’s seat in the SEC East. Unless the Gators slip up, it doesn’t appear Georgia will be playing for another SEC Championship. But this game might have given Georgia fans more hope.
During the game, media members across the country were eager to shower Daniels and the Bulldogs with praise for the impressive showing. Here are some of the reactions that hit social media as, perhaps, a new era of Georgia football began under Daniels.
