The Green Bay Packers

to have star receiver Davante Adams against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. Adams battled through an ankle injury last week against the Jacksonville Jaguars and was limited in practice this week.

The talented receiver missed practice on Thursday and logged two limited practice sessions. Packers head coach Matt LaFleur believes Adams has made progress and the team felt comfortable enough to leave him off the official injury report.

“I think he’s made good progress,” LaFleur said. “He should be good to go.”

Adams had eight catches for 66 yards and a touchdown against the Jaguars. This season, he leads the NFL with nine touchdowns. Overall, Adams has 61 catches for 741 yards and averaging 12.1 yards per reception.

The Packers have relied on Adams to energize the offense. He has a great rapport with Aaron Rodgers and recently noted that his improvements this offseason has led to the strong campaign so far.

Adams discussed his play with Michael Irvin on NFL Network and his proclamation that he is the NFL’s best receiver this season.

“I would probably say the commitment to my craft,” Adams said. “Every year, you try to get better and better. As we continue to go, I just try to find little nuances and little small things to continue to grow and try to be a better player.

“Everybody talks about my releases and all that. It has gotten to a point where I don’t have to dig too deep into the bag. It is just playing fast and going to make the play.”

Adams is averaging 1.3 touchdowns per game. He joins an elite class with Randy Moss and Jerry Rice if he stays on the pace. His ability to develop chemistry with Aaron Rodgers has led to a special bond between both players.

Rodgers said that Adams is someone that continues to amaze him each week. He said Adams is a dream to play with on the field.

“He’s one of a kind and never ceases to grow my respect,” Rodgers said about Adams last week after the Jaguars game.
Adams agrees. He enjoys being around Rodgers and learning from him.

“It means a lot as the love and feeling is definitely reciprocated,” Adams said. “I think part of the reason he can say that is the bond we developed over the years.”

The Packers hope to come out with more energy against the Colts. LaFleur felt the team played without energy at times against the Jaguars.

“We’re playing football,” LaFleur said. “These guys are playing a kids’ game, and getting paid for it, man. It’s disturbing to me. And it starts with myself and our staff. We’ve got to bring more energy for these guys.”

Against a good defense, Adams will be needed to help the Packers pull out a tough road win.
