Alabama falls to No. 4 in AP poll after loss to LSU
Alabama didn’t fall too far in the AP poll after losing 46-41 to LSU.
The Crimson Tide dropped from No. 2 to No. 4 in the top 25 after Saturday’s game. LSU stays at No. 1 while Ohio State and Clemson occupy the next two spots. Georgia rounds out the top five.
Minnesota rocketed up to No. 7 after beating Penn State 31-26 at home. The Nittany Lions fell to No. 9 after the loss. Oregon is at No. 6 ahead of the Gophers and Utah is at No. 8. Oklahoma is the last team in the top 10.
Baylor dropped to No. 12 from No. 11 after moving to 9-0 with a triple-overtime victory at TCU. The Bears are the only undefeated team outside the top 10.
Indiana jumped into the poll this week at No. 24. It’s the first time the Hoosiers have been ranked since 1994. Despite being 7-2, the Hoosiers are behind 6-3 Texas in the poll. The Longhorns got back into the top 25 after beating Kansas State at home with a last-second field goal.
Now that the College Football Playoff rankings are out the AP poll isn’t as significant since the CFP committee determines the playoff field. And it’s worth noting that the playoff committee had Ohio State at No. 1 ahead of Saturday’s games with LSU and Alabama at Nos. 2 and 3. Will the committee keep the Crimson Tide ahead of Georgia like the AP voters did? We’ll find out on Tuesday.
Full AP top 25
